Lessons and prices

It is all written down.

You should be able to work out whether this is for you at eleven at night, from another time zone, without booking a call first. So here is everything, including the parts that do not exist yet.

Everyone starts here

The diagnostic session.

One hour by video. I record you speaking for a few minutes, ask for a short piece of writing, and ask what you actually want the language for — a trip, a partner's family, work, or simply because you like it.

Two days later you get a one-page plan: the five things holding you back, in order of how much they cost you, and what to do about each. Written in plain English, for you to read on your own.

Not a sales call

If my honest answer is that you do not need lessons yet, I write that.

Yours to keep

The plan is useful on its own, even if you never book again.

Deducted later

If you continue, the 45 € comes off your first month or pack.

Everything, and what it costs.

Prices for all lessons and products
What Price What you get
Diagnostic session 45 € One hour online plus a written one-page plan. One-off, deducted from your first month or pack.
One-to-one, evening 65 €/hour Sixty minutes, entirely yours, with written notes afterwards. A pack of five is 300 €, valid for six months.
Small group, evening 89 €/month Four learners at most, at the same level, one hour a week. Cheaper than one-to-one and better for speaking practice, because you hear other people struggle with the same things.
Children 69 €/month Weekly hour in a group of up to six, grouped by age. Often for Brazilian families abroad whose children are losing the language at home.
A1 to A2 course waiting list 279 € Self-paced course with real Brazilian audio, spaced review and pronunciation from lesson one. It does not exist yet — people on the waiting list pay 229 € when it opens.

Payment by bank transfer, always invoiced. Renata is registered as a self-employed worker in Portugal.

Quick answers

The money questions.

Why no free trial lesson?

Because free lessons attract comparison shoppers rather than students, and because the diagnostic is real work with something to show for it. You keep the plan either way, and it comes off your first month if you continue.

How long until I can hold a conversation?

Simple exchanges come surprisingly early — a few months. A solid A1 is around 80 to 100 hours of study, and A2 roughly the same again. Anyone quoting you less than that is selling something.

Can I cancel whenever?

Yes. No lock-in, no fee. Groups end at the end of the month you cancel in, and unused lessons in a pack stay valid for six months.

What if the group is full?

You go on a waiting list and I tell you honestly how long I expect it to take. I do not put five or six people in a four-person group: everyone would speak less for the same money.

What time are lessons?

Evenings, European time — which is also early afternoon in much of the Americas. It is a small number of hours a week, so places are limited for real.

Group or one-to-one?

Group, for most people. It costs less, and hearing three other people make the mistake you were about to make is worth more than the extra attention. Choose one-to-one if you have a deadline or an unusual goal.

The person behind the lessons

You are learning from someone, not something.

Same teacher every week, who remembers what you got stuck on last time. Based in Oeiras, just outside Lisbon, teaching in the evenings.
