So which one?
Pick Brazilian, unless one specific thing applies.
Choose Brazilian if you are learning for travel, for family, for work, for culture, or simply because you like the sound of it. It is roughly four fifths of the world's Portuguese speakers, it is far easier to hear as a beginner, and the supply of music, series and video to learn from is effectively unlimited. It will serve you in Portugal too.
Choose European if you are taking the CIPLE exam for Portuguese citizenship, which tests European Portuguese specifically and marks down Brazilian vocabulary in the written section — or if you already live in Portugal and your priority is understanding the person at the counter rather than being understood by them.
And if you picked one and later want the other: you are not starting again. You are learning a set of vocabulary swaps, one grammar habit, and some ear training. Weeks, not years.
